CCC places 4th in the Regional Finals of the 10th St. Paul National Bible Quiz

Last September 7, 2019, Cainta Catholic College competed at the 10th St. Paul National Bible Quiz, which took place at the St. Paul University Gymnasium, Quezon City. Each school sent either one or two teams to represent them. Cainta Catholic College formed two teams with each being composed of three members. The participants that represented CCC were Angela Louise Balla, Sarea Ohanna Vera, and Carlos Joaquin Enriquez from Grade 9 - St. Albert the Great and Mark Daniel Gabilo, Yaz Rohann Barrameda, and John Benedict Pescoso from Grade 10 - St. Aloysius Gonzaga.


For the elimination round, the program started with an opening prayer through a video presentation. This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. The host acknowledged the presence of every competing school through a roll call. After that, he then discussed the mechanics of the exam. The participants were arranged according to their assigned readings. The exam proper started at 9:30 A.M. and ended at 10:00 A.M. After the exam, the participants were given a 30-minute break.

Before the giving of the certificate of participation to each school, a video clip about what transpired during the elimination round in Ateneo de Davao was shown. The host then gave each school a certificate for partaking in the event.


The last part of the event– yet the most awaited– the announcement of the winners followed. The host started announcing the winners from the 3rd placer up to the 1st placer, then from the 1st qualifier up to the final qualifier. Cainta Catholic College was announced as the first qualifier.

2nd Place: St. Theresa’s College Team B

3rd Place: St. Theresa’s College Team A

1st Qualifier: Cainta Catholic College

2nd Qualifier: Holy Family School of Quezon City, Inc.

3rd Qualifier: Espiritu Santo Parochial School of Manila, Inc.

Final Qualifiers:

Notre Dame of Greater Manila

Miriam College High School

Binangonan Catholic College

The event of the elimination round concluded with a prayer through a video presentation, then the host thanked all the schools that participated in the 10th St. Paul National Bible Quiz.


Cainta Catholic College moved up to the regional finals that happened last September 12, 2019, Thursday. The event took place at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. For the regional finals, each school was required to form a team with three members. The participants that represented CCC during the regional finals were Angela Louise Balla and Sarea Ohanna Vera of Grade 9 - St. Albert the Great and Mark Daniel Gabilo of Grade 10 - St. Aloysius Gonzaga. Cainta Catholic College made it to the top 4, scoring a total of 36 points. Though placing 4th, Cainta Catholic College was not qualified for the championship round for only the top 1 and 2 schools were qualified.


Throughout the event of the Bible Quiz, the representatives of CCC were accompanied by teachers from the CF Department: Mr. Daniel John San Pedro, the assistant principal of the Junior High School Department, Ms. Melanie Dodson, the Subject Area Coordinator of Christian Formation, and also with Mr. Dennis Garais who accompanied the participants during the elimination round.
